What You’ll Do:As the Business Data Analyst, you will provide structured transparency and management of our data assets. By focusing on data sourcing, integration, data quality and governance principles, the Business Data Analyst will ensure we know where our data comes from, is stored, is going and how it is being used and transformed along the way. The Business Data Analyst will enable a collaborative data environment where all stakeholders have access to the data they need, understanding, confidence and trust in the data they use and support for the data they steward.Promote and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of data governance and data management standards, policies, procedures and controlsContinuously assess the current state of our data environment to identify process improvement opportunities such as inefficient table structures, ineffective load processes, R.O.T. or metadata and reference data enhancementsProactively monitor data, metadata and reference data and support the data stewardship community in resolving identified data quality and data integrity concernsMaintain data models as well as metadata and documentation such as data glossaries and catalogs, data mappings, data lineage and data classificationsParticipate in data integrations as the liaison between I.T., business data owners\stewards and subject matter experts and conduct data profiling and data discovery to support these effortsMaintain open communication between all data stakeholders, from data producers to consumers, and remain an active enabler of the data governance structure of the BankWhat You Bring:Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related programProficient in PL\SQL and confident working in a structured data environmentExposure to some of the following tools or technology: Oracle, Databricks, IKC, Azure, GCP, Big Query, Hadoop, Hive, Python, R, Shell Scripting, SAS, basic Linux commandsExperience working with data in a corporate environment and supporting cross-functional data governance including monitoring data quality, recommending improvements in data, data modeling, data classification and data governance capabilitiesClear understanding of data management concepts: Big data/Hadoop, data lake, data warehouse, data mart, relational databases, data ingestion/ETL, master dataAnalytical mindset and critical thinking skillsAdvanced working knowledge of Microsoft tools including Visio, PowerPoint and ExcelGood understanding of emerging data technologiesExperience with data governance or curation platforms considered an assetCDMP certification considered a strong assetLocation : Oakville, Ontario (Hybrid: In-office 4 days a week)We’re always looking for great talent!

Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
